Welcome to the Oceana Green Club "Official" Website.
Hello Oceana student(s). Are you interested in the Oceana Green Club? Of course you are, or else you wouldn't have been gullible curious enough to visit our home page. Well this is where all our information will go (as soon as we have some information to post). In the mean time, the Green Club has been around since 2004 in Oceana and is currently the only environment-centered program in the entire school. That being said, the club has had several goals over the past years (both completed and not-so-completed). These goals include:
- creating, repairing, and eventually redesigning the infamous Green House (for a brief history, click here
- maintaining a recycling program so that all the bottles in the recycling bins do not go down the trash
- providing the school with community service opportunities
- including recycling, maintaining the planter box, weeding, gardening, etc...
educating the school community on:
- herbology
- human caused environmental impact
- healthy eating
- organic gardening
- preparing healthy foods
- making a difference
- growing/selling different vegetables
- incorporating grown foods into cafeteria lunches
- raising membership and awareness throughout the school
- having a good time
Heck, you know you have nothing better to do this coming Tuesday at lunch, so why not stop on by? There's no commitment. Still not conviced? Email us anytime, or snoop around the site and the school for more information. Everything you need is in the table below.       So what are you waiting for? O wait, you're probably waiting until you're finished reading this. That would constitute me shutting-up. Well I'm not going to. The environment is dying. Join. Quickly. Join now. It's dying. Still dying. You're killing it. It's going to be on your conscience when you walk away from the monitor. Don't forget. You'd better not forget. You're going to forget, aren't you? Please don't forget. It's dying. It's still dying. You're forgetting. You're still forgetting. I'm amazed you've read this far without helping the environment. Why are you "smart" enough to read this far, yet not smart enough to help the environment... Comeon, (wo)man! In the infamous words of Benjamin Franklin: "Join, or Die!". Only you won't die if you don't join... much...
